Mando Footloose Provides Web Summit Staff with World’s Coolest e-Bike Transport

Award winning bike an official partner and on display at mega tech event in Dublin
DUBLIN, Ireland – 28 October, 2015 – Mando Corporation’s ground breaking and award-winning Mando Footloose IM electric bike will be seen whizzing the aisles and venues of Web Summit next week as the company has been named an official partner of the ‘must attend’ tech event of the year, being held November 3-5. The eye catching two-wheeler will be used by Summit staff throughout the event, and will be on display on the conference floor. One lucky attendee will walk away with a Mando Footloose of their own if they post the winning ‘selfie’ on social media.

“We are excited to be part of this influential event which attracts leaders from all walks of business and technology. The people that attend The Web Summit are a perfect match for Mando Footloose as they embrace the technical innovation, design excellence and eco-friendliness that our bike embodies,” said Jeff Chang, General manager of European sales and business development for Mando.

The technologically advanced bike is a 2015 winner of the prestigious Red Dot and Good Design awards and its game-changing design and features have won accolades worldwide.

At the Mando display at the Web Summit, event attendees can try the bike and enter to win one in a social media competition that the company is hosting by simply posting a photo of themselves with the bike along with the hashtag #MandoWebSummit2015.
Form meets function in Mando Footloose IM
The bike features an innovative chainless design based on the company’s Series Hybrid Technology that powers the wheels with its internal 250 watt motor. With the Mando Footloose IM there is no mechanical connection between the cranks and rear wheel and instead they are connected by an alternator.  The company further leverages its heritage in sophisticated automotive technology through its Electronic Control Unit (ECU) that monitors the bike’s condition and manages the system to optimize the bike.

The integrated technology also includes a removable Human Machine Interface (HMI), a smartphone sized (colour) LCD computer module that mounts on the handle bars to act as the dashboard for the bike. It provides the user with power, speed, maintenance and even health/fitness information. The HMI also allows the user to select preferred modes including acceleration mode (eco, normal, sporty, health) and pedal resistance mode (soft, medium, hard). It features a removable battery that can power the bike up to 25km(16mile)/hour and for up to 60km(37mile) on single charge.

The Mando Footloose IM emphasizes practical and aesthetic touches, including cast aluminium front and rear wheels, and high-performance front and rear disc brakes. The polished aluminium alloy frame is gently wrapped by a high-quality plastic covering available in a pleasing array of colour options, effectively housing all the bike’s mechanisms and cabling for a minimalist appearance.
